Volume 6; No.3
February 1983
Dear Brethren;
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
Now is the time for all missionaries to come to the aid of the faithful readers
and send out their monthly newsletter to enrich their lives with snidbits of
information. We surely do appreciate the many comments from you on our newsletter.
I will be sure and tell my typewriter that it needs to improve on it's spelling.
9th YEAR
This month begins our 9th year in the New Guinea work and we want to thank the
following congregations who have had a financial monthly support stake since
we first went over. Even more they have continued their support even after I
went by and they got to know me: Joplin Mo.: Anderson Mo.: Gallup N.Mex.; West
Union Mo.; Lamar Mo.; M/M N. Martin. THANK YOU!
SNOW WHOA
Well the kids had waited for it and they got it. I had not waited for it and
I got it too! 61/2 inches of
that cold wet stuff they call SNOW . The kids thought they were in snow heaven!
Happy Birthday This month (February) on the 20th Terasa will be 12.
NEWS FROM HOME
The Goroka congregation held a VBS in December with over 120 children in attendance.
Silas Kozo is now a teacher in the Bible school. And Jab received his tradesman
certificate as a Diesel Mechanic.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
During January we visited the following brethren and reported on the Lord's
harvest there in Papua New Guinea.: GLADSTONE K. C. MO.; WEST UNION MO. ; JOPLIN
MO.; SHAWNEE OKLA.; CAVE SPRINGS ARK.; BONA MO.; LAMAR MO.; MIAMI OKLA.. Not
only have we had the opportunity to show our slides and movie and talk with
congregations but we have also shown them to various schools. In Shawnee Okla.
we showed and talked to two different assemblies at one school and an assembly
at another school. The children were amazed that there are people in other parts
of the world so much different than they are. After 1 show I have a question
and answer time and some of the questions are really good. Here in Joplin I
showed films where Jason and Terasa go to school and they are now local heros.
So far we have only traveled 4000 MILES
WORD PROCESSOR
Also in January we drove to Tulsa and saw a demonstration for a CPT word processor.
In our needs list ,we have shown an NBI word processor. The CPT is much cheaper
and so we will purchase it if we can come up with the needed mulah (money).
The $15,000 price includes 83.5% customs duty on the machine I would have to
pay upon arrival back in PNG. We are still in the market for any used word processors
that someone out there would like to donate to the work for a tax write off.
ASK AND WE RECEIVED
The Lord says we have not because we ask not. It's true! During a report to
Shawnee Okla I got to talking with a brother who teaches school on printing.
By the time I got back to Joplin he had given me over $600 worth of printing
supplies. The work really appreciates it brother!
