Dearest Friends and family

TEACHING
We had our monthly combined worship at Eton this past month. I taught.
The brethren at Epau have ask me to come once a month now and teach, usually the third Sunday. Otherwise I am teaching at Eton on "the parables of Jesus".

TRAILER
The trailer sure looked good until we loaded it with newly cut timber for the school building. The tires had been on the rims for many years and the rims are rusting away. But I used what we had. After loading the timber out in a bush area (through a cow pasture) where the Lucas sawmill was set up, as I was pulling away the weld broke holding the spring hanger on the frame, we unloaded the wood, baling-wired it together and took it back home and I re-welded it. Went back for the wood and as we were pulling it (slowly) on the highway one of the tires on the trailer disintegrated. I went ahead and dragged it to the school sight and we unloaded the wood from the trailer as well as from the top of the truck. I took the rims and tires off the trailer and took them home. The original trailer was a dual axle and so I took the tires off the other axle for spares and took them back to the trailer. We were mobile again. Stephen is trying to find some rims that we can use with new tires.

PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS
I am in town by myself three times one week. We bought a microwave in August it quit on a Sunday night (no popcorn!), we took it in Tuesday and they replaced it - Kathy tried to use it Tuesday night - no heating - mama not happy - I brought it back in town Weds morning - they checked it - sure enough I was right it does not heat - I upgraded to a bigger model and it is at home working.

Then the next day after I took the truck and trailer up to the school with the 2 x 4's and flooring (form plywood which is 3/4 plywood with laminate on both sides) - I was supposed to go pick up a load of newly cut timber up on the block but as I was backing the truck up I drove over the tongue of the trailer (since it is a path into the building sight I have to unhook the trailer to reposition the truck then re-hook the trailer) and blew out the side wall of the back tire - could not get the spare down as it was rusted up there - so called I Kathy - she came with the KIA and I took her back home. I got Sul and JuJu started on putting the flooring supports down and I took off to town for a new tire so the truck was driveable. That night I got under the truck and saw-sawed the cable holding the tire under the truck. I have since repaired the tire holder and have the spare back under the truck.

When I was picking pawpaws from a tree earlier this month the ladder slipped and I ended up sliding down the trunk with the inside of my upper arms. The right under arm was really gross but is starting to get better. I had it down to the nerves with a big knot under the skin!

When we (me and my two inexperienced lads) were putting the second roof truss up and they climbed up to secure the second to the first they let go of the second truss which weighs about 300# and it swung down scraping the my back of the left side and knocked me off the ladder. I had to take a time out and decided since they were the only one's helping I would wait to kill them at a more convenient time. We were able to get the rest of the trusses up with out fanfare. Now whenever my son writes he has to inform me that "ladders are not my friends".

I did a backward dive over a tree stump with a piece of 6 meter roofing iron on top of me as I was backing up to position myself to pass the sheet up onto the roof. That was fun!

I also took a couple of layers of skin off the top of my head when I ducked into the classroom through the framework without ducking far enough. I even had a do-rag and a straw hat on - that brought stars!

I've got bruises on top of bruises but they too will pass! (I hope!)

On November 7-8 we had torrential rains which caused some major flooding just outside and around Port Vila.

Scholarship Fund for the Bible school in honor of Joe Cannon
We have a new support program for The Christian Institute of Biblical Studies. I have had memorial funds donated in the name of Joe Cannon in the past two years. So we have established a scholarship fund called the "Joe Cannon Scholarship Fund for The Christian Institute of Biblical Studies".
Joe Cannon was a great warrior for the Lord in his missionary journeys in Japan, Okinawa, Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya, Ukraine and Memphis for over 60 years. He touched a lot of lives in his living and I was one. It is only natural the memory of Joe for the Biblical training of Christians since that is what he was about his whole life. The funds generated will be used to support students that come from the island nations around Vanuatu where we will be seeking to strengthen the Biblical training of Christians from their islands for the future needs of the kingdom in their home islands. They cannot work while they are here and thus the need for support for when they are here. The scholarship funds will be only used to support students who come to the school from outside Vanuatu. We will be asking their home congregations to cover the cost of the travel to and back from Vanuatu. Funds can be sent through our sponsor. (CIBS Scholarship Fund: Joe Cannon)

Thanking you for hanging in there with us with the building of the school.
As we start building we will be in need of additional funds in the next few months for building of student dorm-rooms, about $30,000. So if anyone out there can help we would really appreciate it.

Please note that we have been able to get our website (http://www.oceania-outreach.com/Index.html ) back on line and I will try to keep it current. It also has a link for downloading mission books that Joe Cannon wrote.

Onward and upward!

Thank you so much for all of you who are praying for us, supporting us and have contributed to our needs. God bless you! Thank you for your prayers!

Thank you Lord for healing and providing what we need!

Grace & Peace
